ok, so I'm watching "8 simple rules " on TV right now, and it is the episode after Paul (John Ritter) dies. I am aware that he died in real life of a heart problem, and the TV show he was on, instead of replacing him, had his character die as well. But how did he die on the show, I'm just curious.

John Ritter's character died in a supermarket. In real life, he died of a heart problem. I don't know if they would ever replace John Ritter's character as Paul.
If John Ritter was alive, 8 Simple Rules series would have continued.

When John Ritter died a couple of years ago, they wrote his character off the show (after a long break). It was very sudden and unfortunate because he was still quite young. In 8 Simple Rules, he left early in the morning to go grab some groceries. Then Kate, the wife, got a phone call. He had collapsed in the middle of the store of a heart attack and had no chance of survival. It was very sad.

He died at the grocery store I think something fall on him they did not actually show that part just Kate receiving the phone call

He was at the grocery store in the 3rd aisle getting milk for the fam and he had a heart attack. :(
