first, you want to remove the parenthesis...subtract 3 from 6:
6-3=3, which leaves you with: 4-3x7-7+6

next, you want to multiply 3 and 7:
3x7=21, which leaves you with: 4-21-7+6

then, you want to add -7 and 6:
-7+6= -1, which leaves you with: 4-21-1

then, you want to subract 4-21-1:
type that in your calculator, exactly how it looks, hit enter or equals, and you get: -18

follow this rule for solving order of operations: PEMDAS

P-Parenthesis
E-Exponents
M-Multiply
D-Divide
A-Add
S-Subtract

when you use this, you solve the problem from left to right, removing all the parenthesis first, then removing all the exponents...there's none in this particular problem...then mulitiplying what needs to be multiplied, dividing what needs to be divided, adding what needs to be added and subtracting what needs to be subtracted. always start first with the parenthesis and work in order down to the subtraction.

an easy way to remember PEMDAS? think of this:

4 - (6 - 3)7 - 7 + 6
= 4 - 3(7) - 7 + 6
= 4 - 21 - 7 + 6
= 4 + 6 - 21 - 7
= 10 - 28
= - 18

The principle rule for this sum is the BODMAS theory. BODMAS stands for Bracket Off Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction. Using this rule, try resolving this sum and some other sums of your choice. You will surely stumble upon the right answers.

Do your multiplication after you do what's contained within the (). 6-3=3 so 3 x 7=21 then plug that in.
4-21-7+6= -18

Watch out for the order of the equation.

PEMDAS (6-3)=3
there's a negative 1 out side of that paratheses so why not tack it on to the 4 to get -4. -4*3 = -12. 7+6= 13...so
-12, 7-13
I don't know why they do this but 7-13= -6 added to -12 is-18

first, get rid of the parenthesis...
4 - (3x7) - 7 + 6
and again...
4 - 21 - 7 + 6
then, just do the math...
4 - 21 = -17
-17 - 7 = -24
-24 + 6 = -18
that's it
