I have used the Internet to check on some old English coins.
If you type Indian head penny 1897 into the the search bar it will return some websites, that you can use to find its value.
I would not use Ebay first, as it's an auction site and you may not get the true value of the coin(s).

well, I some time ago I was watching tv when I heard the news lady say that a 1914 penny costs around $ 500. Now you do the math and found out how much a 1897 costs. Ironic that a penny costs $ 500.
