Try pressing and holding the center and the menu button to reset the iPod or try plugging it into the computer, seeing if it gets recognised in My Computer and opening the iPod Update and press restore to put the iPod back to factory settings. If not leave it plugged into the computer to charge it up or plug it into the mains cause it can happen if your battery is dead. If none of these work try calling apple support, have a look on www.apple.com/uk/support/ipod or visit an apple store or john Lewis depending on where you bought it from. Hope this helps

That has never happened to me before. I would read the owner`s manual or call the Apple support line. I would also try to remember if my ipod had had any falls lately. I would also try to just charge my ipod-to see if it was low on battery power. I really hope this helps! If not I would suggest calling the company and complaining about the product!

goto apple.com.. and download the latest ipod update*.. leave the ipod charging overnight... when it is done, switch "hold" on and off... then press the menu and centre button together till the apple logo comes up.. connect it to computer, if your pc doesnt go: 'bing-bong', then you need to re-install the drivers.... which you can get from the cd it came with or apple again.....

*when you update the software, you will need to "flash" it using the mains adaptor.... g'luck.....if all this fails, is it under warranty, or could you claim on some sort of insurance...?

I assume that it is not fully charged when it cuts out do you see a line going across just before it cuts out?

I think it could be the battery, when you first got it did you charge it for a few hours or did you use it straight away?

plug you ipod into your pc, look on your original disk and run the ipod factory reset utility, this will refresh all the software, the downside is it will remove all your tunes
