I cant think of any other reason for them being here, other than to make pretty girls totally lose their cool when a wasp approaches them, and they run off with their boobies bouncing.

There is no such thing as "purpose" in biology.
There are ecological niches and there are interrelated ecological dependencies but when you start using words like "purpose" you are implying that nature is designed by some supreme entity that has a reason for creating wasps and other animals. There is no reason to suppose that.
Wasps evolved because of random mutations. Their ancestors were able to take advantage of a void in some ecology and that gave them a survival edge over their competitors. Today they survive because of the abundance of the insects they prey on and they don't have enough insects that eat them.

A lot of things on this planet are not here for human enjoyment. Mosquitoes for example. Or earthquakes, or floods, or wars... why just pick on wasps? Maybe if there was nothing in the world to make humans suffer, we would get lazy and forget about God, and we would never grow and change.

I once heard that every single living creature has a purpose apart from wasps. They don't actually pollinate. Maybe He just thought them up for a laugh. So He could watch use humans do the wasp dance every summer.

What is the purpose of anything?
Especially questions that have been asked several times before.
The purpose of wasps. in so far as they can be considered to have a purpose, is to breed, to reproduce their own kind, and to rear them.
In order to do this they have to catch large amounts of caterpillars. They paralyse them, and lay their eggs inside them, so their babies have fresh meat to eat when they hatch.
This is good for us, as the caterpillars eat our crops.
Wasps are also beautiful.
Clean.
Elegant.
Lovable.
They themselves are vegetarians, and love sweet things.
They have wonderful figures
They are amusing when drunk
Long may they exist to decorate this world.

i understand where you're coming from wasps are devious lil devils and seem to wait till you're relaxing with a cold beer in the sun before they strike...but thats not their prime purpose in life...their purpose in life is to make lil baby wasps....and though wasps often revolve around us...life does not...
