Yes, but be ready to explain thing you think they may not understand. My kids love watching the simpsons and family guy with me. They laugh at the things they get and ignore the rest.

Most episodes are okay, I just make my kids look away when "itchy and scratchy" comes on. There are however, some episodes that go too far, such as the Halloween episodes, or one where they were talking about medieval English history (there was pretty raunchy sexual content in that one).
I certainly wouldn't let my kids watch it as a daily show, but I don't freak out if it's on while dinner is cooking.
P.S. my girls are 6 and 3, and I am quite conservative about what I let them watch.

it depends on what age, i watched it my whole life since i was 11 i think that age and above should be okay, there are a lot of hidden and adult messages in some episodes, they also swear sometimes, i suggest they watch Futurama instead, its written by the same people as the simpsons but more entertaining

No, I don't. At first I did because I saw nothing wrong with the show. I watched the show since 2nd grade and saw nothing wrong with it but then I got married and my husband told me the show was not suitable for our children. Later I agreed with him. Really, it depends on the child's maturity level.

well it should depend on the children. Example--if a 6 year old knows that it is not real then it is ok for said 6 year old can watch it. However if a 10 year old can't tell its not real then the 10 year old should not watch it--you get it?

Not any more...there was a time when I would allow a pre-teen to watch...but now the jokes are too racy and sometimes the show is too violent (especially itchy an scratchy)

i love the show and continue to watch to this day..... (although many of the jokes would be over a child's head anyway....)

Absolutely not! I don't think children should watch television at all! Read to them or have them read magazines or books. A person's imagination is MUCH better than any television show!

it depends what age and the maturity, and what other things they watch. If they are 12 years old and have had a girlfriend and are pretty mature.. etc. then yea, but most people aren't like that and YOU SHOULD'NT have a gf at that age or do some stupid things.

I wasn't allowed to watch it when I was a kid (and when I did I didn't understand the adult humour until I was older), I think its fine for kids over 12.
