Pretty much all jobs really.
If you want to sell cars, you'll need to understand fractions, so that you can calculate your share of the profit, and this will help you in figuring out how much you are not willing to sell the car for.
If you wait tables, and need to calculate gratuity for a large group.
All engineering and science disciplines will use fractions daily.

If you are an Estate Lawyer (someone who drafts wills and deals with people's property when they die) you have to use fractions. This is because you have to determine how to divide property among various people. Also, many times when the person doesn't have a valid will, you have to follow state laws that use fractions. For example: if someone dies without a will and they have a spouse AND a child from a previous marriage, in some states the spouse will get 1/3 of the entire estate, and all the children (including ones from present and previous spouses) will divide 2/3. So you have to be able to divide 2/3 into smaller fractions to distribute amongst the children. That is just one example, but there are also special rules for dealing with one's half brother inheriting from you as opposed to a full-brother. Generally, half-bloods take half of what a full-blood sibling will take. So if you have 3 full-siblings and 1 half-brother/sister, then you will have to be able to figure out that the full siblings will get 2/7 each and the half-sibling will get 1/7. Some people don't know how to figure out the denominator when doing that!!!

how about anything that has to do with percentages .....
mechanics use tools like ..a 5/16 socket on a 1/4 inch drive
cooks use 1/2 cup of sugar
students use only 1/10 of their brain .... teachers use 1/7
go to the racetrack and see how they figure how much money they need to pay the winners ....

cooking, carpentry, math teacher, accountants, sales people, etc
I worked at a dept store as a sales person for years and I definitely used fractions there (as well as percents and other forms of mental math). You never know where you are going to encounter it, make sure you learn it.

Carpentry, you might easily need a board with an extra half inch or quarter inch in it. Or a chef, you need a half pound of flour or some other ingredient.
