Jesus was a revolutionary communist...

The Holy Bible, Acts, Chapter 4;32-35:
{32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34 There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.}

"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." - Karl Marx

"Catch a man a fish, and you can sell it to him. Teach a man to fish, and you ruin a wonderful business opportunity. " - Karl Marx

The critique that the productive members of a commune will carry the unproductive members has always been hilarious to me! Imagine you are in a commune and a lazy member refuses to work (not due to any physical ailment or limitation). What do you think the commune's reaction will be to that? Forgiveness? Come on...get real! Sanctions. It's right there in the Bible in Acts, Chapter 5:

{ 3 Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 4 Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God. 5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. "}

Those sanctions were too harsh, though.

Communism is worse than socialism and neither work in a large and fairly well educated country.

The problem with both theories is that they both consume themselves until there is nothing left. Those who are capable of providing anything prop up all those who can't or won't. There is little incentive to succeed as all that means is to be working harder for no personal gain. Innovation is stifled and the sloth are rewarded. The very few at the top of government live well, but everyone else has little hope for success.

This is a non-starter.

It doesn't really matter if anyone thinks we should because communism doesn't actually exist, it is merely theoretically. Communism is defined as: A theoretical economic system characterized by the collective ownership of property and by the organization of labor for the common advantage of all members. So, in other words, everyone would be equal. But honestly this isn't ever possible to attain, or maintain. Take for example, a communist country that you know of, there are people who are actually better off than others, which defeats the purpose of this style of government. If you notice the dictator (because there always is one) lives far better than the common folk. So, sure to answer the question I believe that IF it was real, and not a theoretical ideology of government, then yes, we should implement it here.

Yes, but we should not look at state-capitalist countries like Cuba, the USSR, North Korea or China to see what communism is. These countries are by no means communist.

Communism has failed everywhere it's been tried. It was invented by a man who squandered two inheritances, and couldn't manage to balance a checkbook. Communism assumes all people have equal abilities, which is ridiculous. It also assumes that people can be educated to ignore instincts borne of millions of years of evolution, which would be laughable if it were not so tragic.

Freedom is the solution to the human condition!

The ideology is horribly flawed. In practice Communism falls apart like a two dollar suitcase.

,Communism doesn't work. Sooner or later you end up with the same system only worse. The few have all the money and power.
Democracy is the best form of government but it has to be consistently checked to keep in line. Just look at the mess we have now.

I think communism and democracy are the same if you have pacific minded citizens in a country. They won't even bother for information about politics and social laws. And the most important point is when you have someone like GWB as a president. So it wouldn't be diff rent if USA will turn in a communistic state.

No, but what we SHOULD do is make some serious reforms to give the poor better conditions and opportunities in life. That's the nice idea behind communism that people sometimes forget.

Unchecked Communism is as bad as unchecked capitalism. Market oriented socialism that might bring back free markets gets my vote.
