No, Real currency is needed to put a value on a nation and its economic infrastructure. It is a way to put a value on global economics such as precious metals and crude oil. The strength of nations is tabulated by it's Treasury and the value of the their coined and paper note. Debit cards only have a value defined by it's owner, and the values can only pass hands once, where real money can pass hands hundreds of times which stimulates local economics. But to answer your question, "No, real money is here to stay for a long time".

The key word in your question is the word "real". Debit cards and "other payment methods" are becoming "real" currency. I remember when the word "cash" didn't mean checks, but I saw different, many years ago, so . . .. God Bless you.

I thought real currency would end also. However I know some people that like to use cash, because they don't want everything they do tracked by "someone".

We are straight forward heading to paperless society where the gov't will have even more control over all of us. Then there will be nearly world wide revolution. Then in time, it will all happen again.
