Why we have the trend here in the U.S. tha girls like to wear shoes(not sport shoes) with out socks or stockings? I just went back from a trip to Europe and Asia. All most 90% of their girls wear stockings when they have leather shoes on! It's looks so elegant to me and my wife. But why the situation is so different in our country? I even saw some bare feet ladys in museum and restaurent, that's just too much.

A lack of propriety and class I suspect; I have noticed it, too. I would never go without and I won't allow my daughter to either. So many parents fail to teach their daughters these things now, why is that? Don't they realize it makes them look cheap and uncouth?

I think we are generally sometimes very lazy and stockings or socks seem like a hassle. I personally hate going without at least "hose" when wearing closed toed shoes.......hate feeling all sweaty and gross

first of all, many other countries tend to have better manners and more respect for others, (ever heard of natives not liking american tourists cuz they are so rude). i think because of their culture, it's more acceptable to cover up legs and feet where americans tend to be more easygoing and free.
it's also more comfortable for girls to wear shoes without being stuffed up into suffocating tights or stockings.

some of us have pretty feet and don't need to hide it and don't have the sweating problem either. I personally always get compliments because my complexion is flawless and people think I'm wearing stockings when I'm not.
With that said unless you fit under these stipulations you need to put on something please!

Personally, I would much prefer to see more ladies wear stockings rather than pantyhose!

Every well dressed woman in the North East also dressess like thay, and if they don't they are slobs. It is the proper way to dress.

because in the US women are more like....sporty, so they wear like the low-cut socks...were not into that whole baby girl thing...atleast thats what i think

because stockings are for old people and little girls making communion.
