It's too close to focus for most people....they just see a big flesh colored blur. And closing your eyes gets you lost in the moment...

If you try to say some forms of kissing are "right" and some are "wrong", you're missing the whole point of kissing! Kissing is about two people expressing their care for each other. It is PERSONAL. So every person kisses differently! Some people kiss with their eyes open. Some kiss with their eyes closed. Some kiss softly and tenderly. Some kiss fiercely. Some kiss very dry. Some kiss very wet. Heck, some people change their kiss type daily to keep things interesting!
So it means NOTHING if you have your eyes open or closed. It just means that your eyes are open or closed. If you want to look in each others eyes, keep your eyes open! If you want to focus on the pleasure of the lips, close your eyes!

This would be a personal answer, it would mainly be to enjoy the bodily sensation that occurs when you are being kissed correctly by that special person. This feeling could cause other things to come across from that kiss if you get the drift. So, you don't just go around kissing anyone.

when people close their eyes when kissing they are trying to get into the other persons mind to be closer to that person. Closing the eyes allows for more concentration

i dont think its that i think its romantic if u close ur eyes......like ur dreaming or something....alot of people i know think its creepy to be looking at the person cuz what if u screw up or kiss bad then u have to put up with the way they look :( i dont care cuz im married so lol...i just think its more of a surprise and more romantic if ur eyes are shut.

This is a automatic reaction when lips come together, you have to force them open when lips come together. It is something to do with the trust one mammal feels for another at that point,
