how about this: give the baby for adoption, then get fixed so u won't mess up again. abortion is murder no matter what u're excuse for opening up ur legs is. even abortion for rape is unacceptable, it's not the baby's fault so let someone else have him.

Several parts of this question bother me.

First of all you indicate you don't believe a patient has the right to privacy, their choice to secure an abortion will apparently result in a filing of some sort with an authority who will then force a person to undergo a surgical procedure quite likely against their will.

Second, people are not going to the vet and so a tubal ligation would probably be a far more proper way to put it than just imagining forcing some to get "fixed" for what should be a private issue between a patient and their doctor.

Third, although you might perceive it as murder obviously that is an absolute statement you cannot possibly expect anyone to be able to confirm.

Fourth, tax payers currently do not pay for elective abortion procedures however many anti-abortion groups often pool tax funds provided to Planned Parenthood and other clinics which are used for education, training, and birth control/std control devices.

In what state do you live in that tax payers foot the bill for abortions?? A state of confusion, I think. There is a federal mandate that prohibits any social service organization from paying for, in full or in part, an abortion. If a woman chooses to have an abortion, she has to pay for it herself. Medicaid will not cover it, nor will it cover any long term birth control. Most women only ever have one abortion. It is not a choice easily made, nor one that is easy to live with. But sometimes it is the best choice they can make. Again I ask you, are you willing to foot the bill for all the unwanted, special needs children that are born in this country because abortion has been made less accessible to those who need it most( IE drug addicts and welfare mothers)????

Okay, picture this:

You're 13. You've just been raped. You are scared, confused, and you just want to put the whole thing behind you. Then you find out you're pregnant. You know that you can't give the baby a good life- you're to young, you wouldn't be able to support it. You also know that having this child would destroy your future. You would never be able to go to college. You might not even be able to finish high school. Your parents don't believe in sex before marriage, and you're afraid of how they would react if they new. So you get an abortion.

Then,13 years later, you fall in love. You get married, find a well paying job, and you're reading to have a baby. . But you can't. Just because you'd been raped 13 years ago. Does that sound fair?

It doesn't really to me.

And this would also go for rape victims? Or are you going to pick and choose the double standard. No woman should have to bear a child if it isn't wanted. And I don't understand how tax payers pay for abortions...I do understand how tax payers pay for unwanted children to be fed, clothed, and health care. Don't be so closed minded and say that unwanted pregnancies are mistakes, because honey you aren't dead yet, and I've seen a lot of people like you eat their share of crow.

Coragryph hit the nail right on the head. Since Pro-Lifers seem to so give a damn about a child they'll never see be abused, why don't they just adopt the children? Why not call up all the Pro-Lifers, with their explicit photographs around child populated areas, and give them the children they care for so much? Makes sense, doesn't it? Now, not only can you save a child, you can love and cherish the child(or children) that you made sure were brought into this world.

i think abortion should not be taken as another form of contraceptive. eg(we will have unprotected sex, if i happen to fall pregnant then i will get an abortion) i believe that an abortion is good if you were raped or you followed all the precautions not to fall pregnant and as fate has it you fell pregnant. accidents happen i know. i do not think it is right to murder someone. but wouldnt you much prefer a woman to have an abortion then her to bring a baby into the world that she wont look after it and mentally abuse so the child has an unbearable life. think about it. i dont think abortion is as bad as people make it out to be.

How about this instead.

Rather than getting the abortion, the embryo would be removed in implanted in someone who was pro-life. That new person gets to raise the baby.

And the state gets to pick the new mother through a random drawing system, like they do for jury duty.

That also solves the problem entirely.

LOL ,,,,,,,,one thing you pro life people keep failing to mention is that more rich and Christan girls get abortions because the family's do not want to deal with the disgrace from friends, family or church knowing that their wholesome good little girl got pregnant out of wedlock,,, so the sector of society fighting abortion makes more use of it then anyone else . and another little fact most of you don't seem to be aware of is these same girls are counseled about other options, they are strongly encouraged to keep their babies or put them up for adoption ,,,, but for these groups mentioned ,,,that is more of a disgrace then ending the pregnancy

Agreed. If there was the threat of "fixing" after your abortion, then people would be alot less likely to do it. But it would also help if parents instilled morals in their children. You know...to teach them not to look at it as a "problem" or a "screw up" - but for what it really is; a baby.
