I think abortion should remain legal. I think that it is a woman's right to choose for herself if she wants to have a baby. What is your opinion?

This is a question I have actually given a great deal of thought to. I am basically pro life but I can see some reasons for abortion. These would be incest and rape and of course to save the life of the mother. There are so many ways to prevent pregnancy. The simplest and cheapest is to not have intercourse. It works 100% of the time. There are also any number of drugs a woman can use. A man can use a condom. Having unprotected sex can also lead to some very nasty diseases. I don't even have a problem with the morning after pill. But that is it. If you do not take precautions and end up pregnant do not punish the baby for your mistake. Have the baby and put the child up for adoption there are thousands of couples who would love the child.

i believe u're absolutely right! a woman DOES have the right to choose; she has the right to choose whether or not to open her legs. once u make the decision to sleep w/ someone & u end up preg. then ur rights end and the baby's begins. how about asking the baby what he wants? or maybe even the father? he should have a say-so also. if u want to have the "right" to choose than "choose" the right to keep-em shut. a shift in the way how society views unwanted preg. would also help. so ur darling teenager is preg. so what? don't stigmatize her or shame her. ev.one makes mistakes right? it's not the be all, end all some ppl make it out to be. the ideal would be for her not to get preg at all, but abortion is not the answer. if u or her don't want the child, give it up for adoption. it's absolutely sick that there are ppl who'd do just about anything for a baby & someone else is throwing away that same blessing they want so badly.

I believe every woman should have the right to choose. There should be no laws enforced having to do with the human body.

If it were made illegal, it would be an even worse issue. The abortions would still be carried out regardless of the "law". Only, they would be done without the supervision of a physician.

I believe that all of the moralistic crap concerning the arguement is just a dividing tactic of the politicians, used to blind us to the TRUE issues.

Taking that out, abortion is nothing more than an elective medical procedure from women. In a free society, it should be a legal option. Besides, if life begins at conception, why can't people get the tax break for kids at that time too?

I agree with you. A woman retains the right to decide what she will do with her body. I do believe there should be a vast amount of education and options available to ensure they make the most confident choice, but I don't think any goverment should have a say what a woman can or can't do with her body.

What will be next if the gov. will dictate how many children you can have..... hmmm sounds like China,,,,,,, dictatorship!

Seperation of Church and State.... remember that!

I personally oppose it, in all but the most extreme situations.

However, my personal views are only applicable to me, and I don't believe that anyone else should be limited by them.

Therefore, I support the right of each individual to make that choice for herself, whether I agree with what she chooses or not.

I feel that if I want to have one I should be able to legally and safely get one. If you want to get one you should be able to get one legally and safely, I dont want you to tell me I can just as I wont tell you that you cant, if you keep spreading your legs and getting knocked up and keep using abortion as birth control then you are the bad apple ruining the bunch. We should be able to get one safely and legally but if your not smart enough to stop getting knocked up then you are not the kind of person I am talking about. No one should be able to get several abortions ( I dont mean 2 but I mean when you've gotten preg like 5 times and keep aborting and havent figured out how to stay out of bed or to use a condom/pill/patch something thats some bullsh*t)

I agree completely with you. I think abortion is a serious thing and that just because you messed up one way or another doesn't mean that you need to ruin your life and the baby's because of any number or reasons (not being wanted, ending up in the system, living in poverty, etc.) If you don't like it, don't get one. Keep your rosaries off my ovaries.

Abortion should be legal up to the point where it can be used as a remedy for the "Terrible Twos"
