Many differences but in the end more things similar. We (the oldies) never imagined the internet or cell phones or any of the other technology that todays generation take for granted. The generation before us felt the same way about automobiles and even electricity. In the area I grew up in electricity didn't come until the late 1920s. You gre up in a different world. Things the same are the human qualities, the things that make us smile and cry and in general enjoy our time on this earth don't change that much

We did not have cell phones, i pods, computers, cable tv, DVDs or VCR. We usually only had about 3 or 4 tv channels to pick from.
What difference does that make you ask? We went outside and did things instead of sitting around in the house day and night.
We did not have as many scary drugs around and it does not seem to me that we had as many issues with people being total addicts. There were some, but not like the crack and meth heads we are seeing today.
The hippie clothes we wore may have seemed sloppy but we did not look like street walkers or vampires.
The younger generation seems to me to either be angry or depressed. I don't know why people like to create that kind of a persona for themselves. It is such a drag.

The differences are clear, look at the children wandering around at wee hours of the night, spray painting graffiti on walls, children mis-behaving at theaters, resteraunts, libraries, etc..... It is the parenting of the last decade that has brought this upon our culture. Todays parents need to learn how to use a belt when needed.

I was born in 1954. Does that count? The biggest difference that I can see between "your" generation and "ours" is the ME-FIRST attitude that a lot of younger folks seem to have. Otherwise, we aren't that much different. I enjoy classic Rock, good wine, good sex, and good friends. How am I so different from you?

in retrospect not a great deal, we the old lived through good and bad times played up made mistakes and some of the mistakes we made you are now paying for so now it is your time to play up and make mistakes but try to learn from the ones we made
