In " City of Angels" when Nicholas Cage finds Meg Ryan is dying and realizes that there wasn't enough time for them together since he "fell to earth". He says he would have rather had one touch of her hand, one smell of her hair, than never to have chanced his immortality. WOW! How romantic and sappy sad.
