September 2005 I received my Concealed weapons permit. I have learned something very interesting and completely unexpected. I'm more patient and kinder since I have been carrying. I never thought that would occur. I've never drawn on any body, never even pulled my weapon ( came close the other night when my neighbor pushed my door open at 10 PM I went to a reddish-orange awful quick when he did that).

I haven't had any intent on doing anything of the sort when I bought my first firearm three years ago, and I think that the fact that I am nicer and long ( well at least longer) suffering is the fact that if I do something stupid that I reflect badly on every legal gun owner in this country. Seeing how wusses see those of us who refuse to be victims, the last thing I would want to do is hurt someone elses rights. Again, I had self-control before but I see less of a need to prove anything to anyone.

And in all honesty, the whole turn the other cheek thing makes more sense now than ever before. But this doesn't mean if my life or my family's lives are in trouble I would run away.

surely places like England that have all yet banned gun possession are seeing super will develop in crime. The violent crime fee is now approximately ten situations as severe because it develop into earlier the ban on firearms. right here interior the U. S. we've seen an remarkable downward vogue in crime over the final 8 or 9 years. in accordance to the FBI, we are at a 37 3 hundred and sixty 5 days low for violent crime, a 40 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days low for homicide. in accordance to the NSSF we are at an all time recorded low for firearms injuries and all this whilst we are at an all time severe for gun possession. you may desire to do plenty greater study earlier springing up with unjustifiable critiques inclusive of this you, you're merely incorrect. And the President does not have the authority fo do as you advise. If he surely tried he'd merely fail, maximum possibly be impeached and he'd rather lose the subsequent election.

Are you assuming people with guns are without morals? Guns, for the most part are simply tools, lethal, but they were originally designed to kill. There are many non-lethal uses of guns these days(i.e. trap shooting, biathlon, etc.) You can ban guns, but that just takes them away from law abiding citizen and does nothing to keep them from those that you like to keep them from. If all the guns in the world could be destroyed and the ability to make new ones eliminated, it would not solve the problem. It just force people to use the next best thing that comes to hand. Evil can not be disarmed.

If you ban something it drives it "under ground" and it makes it Easy to get ... i could ( if i needed to ) get any Gun with in 10 miles from my home in 2 hours.!! any pub in south London will have someone how knows someone that can get a gun..!
a 9mm Browning with 2 full mags is like a packet of smokes ..its that easy .... !
I lived in South Africa for 3 years and was always armed (.357 mag) and it was on show.. ( seen on my belt )... and i had no trouble because everyone else ( White people ) were the same ..its gave out a message " Don't bother cos i will use it " and i would have if i had to ... but thankfully i never did.

Yes, this is one American that wants guns banned.

Here in America, land of the free, we are becoming more and more "protected" as the powers that be try to screen people who may be carrying weapons into public areas. We have already lost great freedom of movement because a few people want to own guns. AND now we can't even carry basic necessary items on airplanes. More and more of our rights are compromised and chiseled away because there are people who want to carry guns. (and leave the terrorists out of this, more people are killed by handguns annually than were killed in 911. 30,000 a year due to guns)
THIRTY THOUSAND ANNUALLY!!!! God Bless America indeed. Peace

In a moral society there would be no need for guns as people would feel no need to have to defend themselves against immoral people.

I do not condone the sale and use of guns as they serve no other purpose than to cause harm.

Even if guns are banned, criminals, who obviously don't obey the law, will still use them. They will get guns through whatever means they can. A huge gun blackmarket will be formed. Banning guns won't make anything better, however, it may make things worse.

I'm not sure they should be banned i know that we don't have them here in the UK, but in the us Gun crime is higher and the police need to protect themselves from the ever increasing danger. soon here in the UK we may have to adopt the same policy to protect ourselves as the amount of gun crimes are rising

In the USA, wherever guns are readily available with minimum laws, crime goes down.
Where guns are outlawed, criminals don't have to worry about being surprised by someone else having a gun. And criminals really don't give a hoot whether it's illegal or not, it gives them the advantage.
Old saw 'If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns'.
