Been kicking the idea of buying a laptop around for quiet a while now, but now I am ready to actuall buy one .... problem is .... what to get?

Basically the laptop would be used mostly as a word processor, though I will probably put a few games on it (things like Pharoah, Sim City 4 or Zeus) to keep myself sane until I fix my PC. So, what brands are trustworthy? What brands should I avoid? What graphics card should it have/not have?

Help would be nice, advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

See!! I'm not the only Dell Hater on here.
Hp or Toshiba. HP has awesome support. I hear nothing bad about Toshiba either.
Most questions about PC's on this site are about Dell's, I swear!
They're not good questions either.

Whatever you do, don't get a Dell. I currently own one and it isn't so hot. The battery died out within a year and it's breaking down! Come to think of it, I hear that Dell was having a battery recall so that's not good. I would recommend HP or Apple laptops.

Dell, Lenovo (used to be IBM), Apple all make very good products.

You'll find that getting wifi will be useful, even if you don't think so now, and a HD larger than 20GB will as well.

A lot will depend upon your budget, but generally the more RAM the better...and I would definitely pay for the next-day on-site service plan.

Make sure it is a safe one. There was a recent warning and recall. I think it was a Dell laptop and the battery had some issue.
