When I save as cape mario (when mario has gotten the feather and can fly) or with yoshi, it goes back down to me being just baby mario with no yoshi, after I reset the game. Is this supposed to happen. I would prefer people who have an snes with super mario world to answer, but if you know the answer you can respond.
Thanks

There's no way around it. You can, however, always re-run an easy level to get back to the way you were when you saved and exited.

Yes, it is supposed to happen. When you save in Super Mario World, it only saves how many lives you have, and obviously your progress. It does not save your status with powerups. Sorry, but there is a VERY easy hidden level where you can get big, get a cape, and get yoshi. It isn't even considered a level, all you can do there is get those items, then leave. It is hard to describe where it is but it is right above the ghost house, on the left side of the world map, above the small lake. I assume you know that each ghost house has a hidden way of beating it. If you are not sure how to do so, then I suggest visiting a cheats and hints site, to look for the answer as I only have so much space.
