English Language is important because it is the main language of the United States. When an immigrant comes to live in this country, if he or she doesn't know a word of English, he or she will be lost. Someone might ask an American can you tell me what do you think is a good town to live in? If this foreigner doesn't speak a word of English then the American can't help this person. We all need help in some way or another. Also English Language is the language we use to communicate with one another. One time I had a Chinese man who came up to me and ask me a question in Chinese. I didn't understand a word he said, so I couldn't help him. We use the language to communicate.

first of all, just wanted to clarify that english is not the most spoken language in the world.
here are some points i came up with just now:
- the english language is not important in of itself; rather, it is important to those who use it to be as proficient in it as they can. considering that most people think in words, the more developed your control of your language, the more developed your mind. in other words, better english= better brain.
- understanding the english language allows you access to a great body of literature.
- being able to teach it offers employment to frustrated, unsuccessful writers (don't tell him that one, but it's usually the case. most english teachers are stuck teaching because they can't support themselves with the writing or art they produce).

your tacher is on crack, he's crazy, but the english language is important because of what i am doing right now, english is one of the most spoken labguages and if i did not speak english, then all of this writing would be chicken scratch, and yeah, tell that teacher to go to rehab, lol, s h i t, we have his class tomorrow, lol

hahahh. wow! your teacher is wierd. english is an important language because its an international language. almost everybody in this world knows how to speak it. that way...wherever you go you can communicate with the others.
