I think the Reds will win the NL Central division. The schedule favors the Reds over the Cardinals after the west coast trip. If the Reds don't tank on this west coast trip, they will be in great shape. They finish with the Cubs, Astros, Marlins, and the Pirates.
The drawback for the Reds is not capitalizing on all the chances the Cardinals are giving the Reds to take the lead in this bad division.
If the Reds do not win the division, they will win the wild card. The NL West teams have been beaten each other up so that no team from the west can make a charge for the wild card. The Reds have a chance on this west coast trip to eliminate the west from the wild card. And I don't believe the Phillies can make a run. Like the Eagles, the Phillies fall flat at the end of the season.
This season, the Reds have an active new owner and new GM who are there to win, instead of just competing.
If the Reds win the division.... the Cardinals hang on for the wild card. If the Cardinals win the division, the Reds are the wild card in the National League.

Yes, I think the Reds will pake the postseason. I think they'll win the Wild Card. I think Albert Pujols is just too good to let the Cardinals fall out of the division lead. Hopefully for the Reds, Guardado and Majewski will come back to help shore up their bullpen. I don't think they'll go too far in the playoffs, though. The starting rotation is the key in the playoffs. If the starters do good, the Reds will do good. But they'll more than likely face the Mets if they do make the playoffs (the Wild Card plays the team with the best record in the regular season). That means Reds starters will have to shut down Jose Reyes, David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado, which isn't an easy feat.

The Reds have played themselves into a very good position heading into the last month of the season. They have an excellent chance of making the playoffs either as the division champ or wild card. The NL West may go down to the wire also. I really believe we may have to wait until the last few days of the season to learn all the playoff teams. I want to see the Reds make the playoffs this year and expect to.

look, I grew up interior the Cincinnati section and am a diehard Reds fan, yet I nonetheless disagree with you. are not getting me incorrect, i'm hoping against desire which you're suitable, yet they are merely no longer that proficient. Their bullpen has the flair to be the worst in baseball, and that they have 3 extensive question marks interior the beginning rotation. in case you may surely tell me which you faith in Milton and Lohse, then you certainly are greater believing than I. i'm slightly greater confident regarding the lineup, and that i do think of they are going to be greater efficient on protection. reducing out the fairly some blunders could desire to translate right into some greater wins this season. and you do have a solid element regarding the NL needed being very mediocre (even if the Cubs look notably impressive on paper). even with the shown fact that that's never a foregone end that the Reds will do something. some injuries right here, and a few slumps there, and that they are going to be skipped over. I supply them a 30% hazard of transforming into the playoffs. i will nonetheless be rooting for them each and every step of how, regardless. additionally, i could desire to admit that once the frustration of ultimate September, i'm attempting to no longer get my hopes up too plenty.

You mean WHO, not whom. However, I do agree with you that the Reds will make the playoffs, and they may do some damage before all is said and done. They will be a long shot to win the World Series, but if they are there, they will have the chance.

Cheers!!

Yes, I believe they will make it one way or another. Either they'll win the Central and the Cards will take the Wild Card, or vice versa. My uncle lives near Cincinnati, so I usually keep an eye on them, too, along with Seattle (my team, cuz I live in Portland, OR). They are looking great this year...and I think they have real potential.

The Cardinals will win the division, and I believe somebody other than the Reds will win the wild card. No offense to you, but I just don't see the Reds doing it this year.

Arroyo will have to pitch much better than he has been lately and they certainly have the defense and i hope they do but if they slip up and it is a possibility with only a 1 1/2 game lead then the Phillies will take the wild card and that is what I think will happen.

I think Cincinnati will make the playoffs, and go deep.

I'd love to see a Cincinnati/Detroit World Series.
