let your baby cry in the comforts of your home, not in somebody elses.

If you have done all the regular checks and she is still crying then she might be teething (it's about the right age) If you are feeding her solid (or semi-solid foods) then maybe something did not agree with her. My baby cried all the time at that age and we just started making her sleep on her tummy and that helped. She still cries and wakes up several times at night. If none of the above works try letting her cry. I know it sounds cruel (i feel that way too) but if you let her cry for 5 min. by the clock then she will start learning to put herself back too sleep. Don't wait like two min. actually do five and then get her. It will hurt you more then it will hurt her and in the long run will lead to more sleep at night for the both of you. Best of Luck.

Talk to the people you are staying with about it. If they have to get up really early the next morning, don't let her cry. Just deal with it until you get home. If they don't mind, then let her cry. They usually don't cry for more than an hour anyway. Also, feed her before she goes to bed, then brush her teeth/gums. She'll be more full and will probably sleep better. Brushing her teeth should be done every night & morning regardless of where you are staying.

Up to a degree; but if it continues too long it isn't good . It was probably uncomfortable for her in such a hot house . In a case like that , I'd give her something to drink before putting her back to bed. All that crying in a hot room may have really made her thirsty .

I had to do the same thing with my 8 month old. As long as it is not hysterical crying or painful crying and the baby doesn't make itself sick I would say that I would. It is hard when you have to do it but sometimes the child needs to soothe themselves to sleep. Good Luck!

she might be hungry and going through a growth spurt and need an extra feed before bed. She might be too hot and feeling uncomfortable. Adjust her clothing and bedding to the new temperature and make sure she gets enough fluids. I don't believe in letting them cry it out, at that age she's telling you something, and that something is a) I'm hungry b) I'm not comfy because I'm too hot, too cold or wet!

Well, it would be rude to the host and hostess to listen to a crying baby all night.
So I will say you should pick the baby up. Can you dress your baby lighter or open a window or turn on a fan?

it is absolutely wrong to let her cry. here's why - she is forming her opinions about the world, you, and her own ability to make things happen. By letting her cry you are teaching her that you do not care that she is sad (what else can she conclude?), you are teaching her that the world is an inhospitable place that doesn't care about her needs, and you are teaching her that all her efforts to help herself do no good.
Letting a child cry is abuse. Period. No two ways about it. I'm sickened just imagining it.

Head for the bookstore and pick up a book on child rearing by Dr. Benjamin Spock. Your mother in law should have gotten it for you.
BTW, did you get an education before birthing a child? Anyone that seeks parental advice from strangers on the internet needs to re-examine their standards...
That and grammar/spelling/punctuation.
Hey
WAIT - MUNFORD?? Didn't I see you two on Jerry Springer?

Don't let the poor thing cry. Stop and put yourself in her place. There is SOMETHING wrong, maybe she's just nervous because you're in a different place and she wants momma. Hold her, comfort her, and remember, in a few years she's be grown and gone.
