Most third world countries are hugely in debt so the money they make is not free to spend on development.
The West does not do a great deal of trade with the third world and what we do is poorly paid so they do not get the money in.

Well I am from a third world country. There is only one answer for your question. The problem is that most of these countries are controlled by religious laws and charters which block their minds toward everything new developed ( specially Arabs ) imagine if till now, they waste all the time thinking if they will marry four ladies or not, or if they can drink alcohol,so what do u expect from such people? Imagine that all west Europe for example is first countries except Spain because once it was controlled by Arabs.. Can anyone deny what am saying by mentioning at least one Arab country considered as a first country?? All what they know to do is to keep blaming West, that is the maximum they can do.

Unfortunately the poor of developing countries have no say whatever in education, agriculture or any other programme. The people who do have a say are those in power who are already well fed and educated. Many of these have been corrupted by power (Mugabe in Zimbabwe for instance) and have no interest in improving the lot of all the people just those that belong to their power base.
We need a stronger UN to ensure governments cannot act in this way and to make sure that politicians are aware that if they do they will be held personally responsible and face international penalties.

if it was that easy it would be done, Africa is blighted worst with this problem, it also applies to the middle east and Asian Sub continent too. Britain and other European countries conquered and exploited these countries for hundreds of years, whilst we were gaining prowess in industry, democracy and science, these poor guys were providing us with the raw materials to do it. To add insult to injury, when we left we decided where the boundaries of individual countries should be, which has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths if not millions through civil war (imagine redrawing Europe and grouping Germany and France together calling Germarance, there would be hell on). So your observations are pretty clear, however its not that simple, Europe did not evolve that way, nor did north America, give it another hundred years and it your thoughts might become a reality.

1. No one has enough money to not have their children working at the age of 4.
2. When no one has any resources and their are no labor laws, their is no way to get money.
3. No one can afford food in the first place!
4. Who are you to tell people how many kids to have? It makes economical sense for the family to have many children so their are more hands to work.
5. I agree that their is too much close mindedness in many countries, but religion is a comfort to people and why do you want to take that away from them when its all they have? They have no material goods to comfort themselves with like we do and need to believe that even though it is hard now, their is something to aim for later.
6 is for you: Educate yourself about their situation before critisizing everyone. And yell at the governments because quite often they are corrupt and are hoarding money from the peasants who have NOTHING. But again, no one cares about them because their resource is having lots of poor people that can be forced to work in terrible conditions for 15 hours a day for a dollar a day.

Well meaning lefties and liberals have created a dependency culture in Britain, they now want to spread taxpayers largesse around the world, creating even more dependents. Don't blame the children who have responded to your question, they will have been indoctrinated into left wing/liberal thinking by the education establishment and the TV media.

The problem with the 3rd world is simple. Stop imitating western countries and most of their troubles would go away. For instance you talk about education, but this is totally unnecessary. Democracy is another sham that they could do without.

The question of them being in debt is a smoke screen because they do have the money but they spend it on arms for killing the next door neighbour...plenty of money for that.......they could spend it on the kids education but they are more interested in killing another tribe...been going on for hundreds of years and until they educate themselves they won't realise their problem.

Ever hear of transference? Blaming and denial? Common human failings. Just like self-righteousness and hypocrisy.
