F = 9/5C +32 (subtract 32 from each side)
F - 32 = 9/5 C (multiple each side by 5/9)
5/9(F-32) = C

First solve the feherneit to celsius

The formula

F = 9/5 C + 32

-32 -32

Subtract - 32 from both sides

F - 32 = 9/5c

5/9F -32 5/9(9/5)C

Inbert 9/5 to 5/9 And multiply both sidesby 5/9

5/9F - 32 = C

The the formula for celsius is 5/9F - 32 = C

Solving from celsius to fehereneit

C = 5/9F -32

+ 32 + 32

Adding + 32 to both sides

C + 32 = 5/9F

9/5C + 32 = 9/5(5/9)F

Invert 5/9 to 9/5 and multiply both sides by 9/5

9/5C + 32 = F

The Fereneneith formula is 9/5C + 32 = F

Start with F=9/5C+32.
Subtract 32 from both sides: F-32= 9/5C
Multiply by 5/9 on both sides: 5/9*(F-32)=C

Start by subtracting the 32 from both sides
F-32 = 9/5 x C
Then Multiply both sides by the inverse of 9/5
5/9 x (F-32) = C

2006-08-23 18:55:11 · answer #4 · answered by kpizura 3 · 0 0

F = (9/5) * C + 32
subtract 32 from both sides

F - 32 = (9/5) * C
multiply both sides by (5/9)

(F - 32) * (5/9) = C

*The asterisk (*) means "multiplied by"

hope this helped.

Always remember the order of operations: "Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction"
(remembered by the pnuemonic device "Please excuse my dear aunt Sally") and that when you are solving for something just work it backwards, ie: first do subtraction, then addition, then division, then multiplication, then exponents, and last parenthesis, and you will come to the answer much more quickly

Shouldn't the formula be F=(9/5)C + 32
F-32=(9/5)C
C=(5/9)(F-32)

First subtract 32 from both sides.
multiply both sides by the reciprocal of 9/5

You will end of with 5/9F-32=c
