Past, current or future movies?

I like his earlier films, but now, I'm having a hard time seperating why I liked the movies and him as a person.

For me, it definitely diminishes my appreciation of his earlier work. While it probably shouldn't, I find I dismiss his acting more than I used to.
I never thought he was another Olivier, mind you, but I do think he has more acting ability than, say, Costner or Reeves or similar one-dimensional thespians (playing essentially the same character in every role - compare Field of Dreams with Robin Hood).
My wife says she's never going to watch another Cruise film again...and with Paramount pulling the plug on the old Cruister, she may not be alone.

Why the hell could everyone boycott Tom Cruise's movies via fact of his religious perspectives? i could fairly boycott them for being commercial, uninteresting, products of crap(with some exceptions of direction) Nah, yet heavily. i do no longer think of we could continually. that's mandatory distinguish between Tom Cruise, the actor, and Tom Cruise, the guy.

He still gives good performances on film and his past work holds up well...

I never thought he was all that but I am not interested in seeing, reading or hearing any more about him...or Mel Gibson for that matter.
