Am considering buying a vfr as my first bike second hand from 2002 model upwards not sure what diff in these models above in each year range is! thanks!

I'd rather eat worms than ride a Hondaaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhh!
Prefer Suzukis myself.
Could only manage a 750 though, being a little lady.
I have ridden a vfr 750 when they were awfully new. The owner had come off it and I got to ride it home. That's So long ago though. I hope they've improved.
Oh go on, try a Suzuki, or even a Kawasaki, but not a Honda.
Their lawnmowers are better!

not sure what they mean but letters and numbers on Honda's usually refer to years of manufacture but I'd not bother with a vfr if i were you cbr seems to be a much better bike all round and even tours pretty well I've got a cbr600f and cannot fault it . I thought about a vfr but when i spoke to my local Honda dealer about it his advice was stick with the cbr or buy a blackbird

THE PACKAGE IT CAME WITH FROM THE FACTORY AND THE 3 AND 4 ARE YEAR MARKERS BUT I CAN NOT TELL YOU WHAT YEAR BECAUSE I NO LONGER WORK FOR HONDA.
