It is nature's way of ensuring the survival of the human race. Yup, love hurts. Love stinks at times, too. We fall in love because we can't help ourselves, I think.

I think people fall in love naturally. They can't control it and best friends from school or something, who are opposite sex, they might even be married someday, and love only hurts when it's unrequited (when someone loves a person but they don't feel the same way... I've had it way too many times, but it doesn't stop me!) and it also hurts when a person is cheating on their lover and the lover finds out.
Besides, without love, you wouldn't be talking right now ^_^ Didn't mean to sound rude, just a little known fact... And, I'm not a hippy, I just think that love is much better than any kind of money. If I could get £1,000,000 or a loving family... I'd pick the loving family... :-P

"why do fools fall in love and why do birds si-ing so gay."
As the song lyric above demonstrates, it is fools who fall in love.
Asking why we fall in love, can never get at the real reason, as love is beyond reason. It is an irrational, foolish, act-
which men often think is a bit gay:)
