i can only argue with you a little. i was fortunate enough to see dime play just before he was killed and yes he is phenomenal. however to put him in the "best" catagory i wouldn't be able to say that. he was a great guitar player but there are others who are also as good or better. i mean if you like rock listen to anything by guns and roses. stay with me on this. slash is possibly the most versitile guitar player out there. he's got all the speed of a metal guitar player but he can slow it down and play some blues or slower rock. also don't forget the older guys. eric clapton, jimi hendrix, jimmy page. i'd also recommed, since you're into metal, check out some Ozzy back when Randy Rhoads was playing guitar for him, that guy was unreal! and for something a little more current Black Label Society! Zakk Wylde can really go nuts.

Sorry, but it is definitely just you, I didn't even find him that good, I mean maybe if you like that type of music. I think that Adam Jones from Tool is entirely better than Dimebag Darrell, and then of course you have Jimmy Page, Lest everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Best? I don't know... but Damn! What a tragedy. I saw the video of the show where he was playing when he got shot... one of the hardest things I've watched. A very tragic loss indeed.

He's good, but you forgot Clapton, Hendrix, Angus Young, Jimmy Page, the twin leads for Judas Priest.... They are/were all miles ahead of him!

Good, not the best.... Clapton, Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn all smoke him, not to mention quite a few others.

sorry dude, but it's just you.

He's good, but let's face the facts, there are many BETTER guitarists, including, but not limited to:
Jimmy Page
Jimi Hendrix
Eric Clapton
Stevie Ray Vaughan
BB King...

...and the list would go on for quite awhile.
