This is on a volvo penta engine inboard outboard 5.0Gi engine
any help would be greatly appreiciated

You will need to replace the circulation pump. Be sure to get a marine pump, automotive will not hold up in a marine use.

Sounds like the water pump. Most water pumps have a tiny hole in the casting that allows water to come out when the weap seal is worn. The weap seal is an idicator that your pump is failing and needs to be rebuilt or replaced IMMEDIATELY.
