Oh my dear, the best thing about our little water planet is that it is the only one we have. Yes, I have read plenty of science fiction. I know a lot of people count on getting to Mars or some other place when we have depleted everything that we need here.
BUT. My dear, that will be for the few if it ever happens. And I do mean few.
And those who go will be special beyond the telling.
For the rest of us, the 6 billion plus and growing every day,
PLANET EARTH IS ALL WE HAVE.
Besides it is a beautiful little planet that we treat like a garbage can and worse. Shame on us. We don't really deserve it.
One thought for the future:
Even when we have used out planet to death and we are dead as a species, it will regenerate. One day it will be virgin again.
If the powers that be are really kind, they will give it to a more thoughtful species next time.
