it can make you a well informed citizen. when you look at a map you will see what countries really are, big plots of land with cities and landforms and natural resources that determine how the inhabitants make their living and how they live. you will see countries like the US as a big thing full of varrying landforms, people, cities, farms, forests, instead of just a colored silhouette. how is wyoming different from oregon? both are roughly square shaped and about the same size. but everything else about them is different. When i look at a map, i dont see colored shapes, i see population densities, landforms, land use, crime rate, economy, all the things that are actually important. that crap they call geography in elementary school is not geography. that is merely colored shapes with words written in them.

but at this time i am only interest by getting points (i have an international challenge-the aim ? getting a good answer in the all countries)

Protection.........countries like China use geographic features (mountains) to protect against enemies.
