Does anyone have any information or know of a clean, decent place for my son to live in?

There are many apartments around UC Davis' campus. Specifically:
* if you would like a clean and near campus, there are a few more expensive ones near A St. (along 3rd/4th St.) These are more expensive because they are bigger and so convenient, just walking distance to the campus.
* Clean but bike-distance to campus and a bit cheaper are apartments near corner of Russell Blvd. and Sycamore Ln.
* There are also some very nice apartments but a bit far away that your son might need a car. I don't recommend this though, as the cost to park car and the time it takes to find a good parking slot might be too much.
All these could be found in advertisements in the Aggie.

Yes, I know of one nice apartment in Davis. There are a fitness room and swimming pool. The address is 2225 Glacier Dr. Ofc., Davis.

Try contacting a local real estate agent. They will know everything there is to know about affordable, safe options. A really good website to browse local real estate/real estate agents is: http://www.realestateforsaleincalifornia.net
It's really easy to navigate and is full of info about realtors with links to their personal websites. Most of their websites will have all the available homes/rentals in the area along with community info, so you can do some research before you contact anyone. Hopefully that works for you. Good luck!
