Well I wrote it like that to get attention.

The U.S. President is considered one of the most powerful men in the world.

Why would we allow our country to appear weak by bashing our own president???

Sure it may be funny and he may be foolish or worse. I am not into a debate on what he does..we know this...do we have be so ignorant?

By making our leader appear a clown we are going to get our $#% Kicked.

Just in case you have forgotton, Pearl Harbor was a sneek attack----the only way to actually take America down---- theoritically speaking.

So do not think for a moment that we will see it coming. The world looks at what we do and we are making a mockery of ourselves.

Well, I really just wanted an answer to my question. I constantly see posters, t-shirts, magnets, stickers, merchandise galore that has Bush dressed up like saloon girls, bo peep, saying rude things etc.. This just makes us look ridiculous, in my opinion and I should have been more specific about the degree of bashing. Freedom of speech was not an issue. Circulating tons, of Bush memerobilia that far exceeds standard ridicule is foolish in my opinion. I live in one of the top five progressive areas in the country (literally) and I am not even into politics at all. There were alot of reactions and thoughts on issues, but, I just wanted an answer. I understand the need for humor, speech, rights, etc. etc..... I believe that someone in some far off place down the road will dig up a naked (faux) photo of Bush or one of him biting the heads off of babies and this may leave quite an impression of our nation. This is just more debate fodder.

Gemvamp, Okidoki, I appreciate your comments the most ( and of course all of you who answered the question without freaking out) I am going to leave the vote to the community because they are kind of worked up. Thanks.

Good point, but..
I think we make our country appear weak by supporting his careless actions simply because he is our leader, don't you? America is not a dictatorship.

So what are you trying to say? That we are responsible for making Bush appear weak. No actually , he is weak. You ask we are so 'ignorant'. You're the ignorant one. You defend him like a family member or his press officer Because only his family would so blindly back such a total fool who has damaged our economy and our worldwide reputation so much and is responsible for so much death and destruction.

We do not have to as you say...' Make him look like a Clown' when he has done a perfectly good job himself.. Have you never heard of 'Freedom of Speech, or 'Democracy' ? Bush always bangs on about 'Deomcracy. Well we are exercising our democratic right to say that Bush is an incompetent and dangerous idiot who has led us down a very dangerous path, and as a result of his policies, made our world a lot more dangerous.Never before in our history has there been so much conflict worldwide as there has been since he came to office.Would you say that is something to be proud of?

Just read the headlines each day..Iraq, Afrghanistan, Lebanon...it seems never ending.

Meanwhile he and his buddies have profited enormously.Cheny's Haliburton's Pentagon contracts have netted him $1Billion from the Iraq war.

The Arms Industry's shareholder profits have soared as a result of Iraq and Afghanistan and Bush spending $450Billion annualy on defence. That is coming from our taxes remember. He gives Israel $4Billion each year. Our taxes paid for those bunker busting bombs which massacred the thoudsands of innocent Lebanese civilans and sleeping children, all innocent victims of Bush's agression and greed. Never before has our image worldwide been so low.He will go down in history as an incompetent and a war criminal.

You call us 'ignorant' for pointing out the truth that this president is weak and a puppet of the arms and oil industry and screwed up big time by illegaly invading Irar a country currently in the grip of a civil war. We lost 2,500 troops, with many thousands more injured and maimed. Over 100,000 Iraqi civilans have died..Iraq was a mistake, a big mess. And you're saying it's ourfault for calling him 'weak'.?. He is more than weak he's dangerous, a liability to us and world peace. He has the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocents on his hands, our economy has suffered enormously.

You are the one who is making a mockery of yourself by your ignorance. You posted this qusiton with the naive belief in the man that only a family member or his presss assistant would have. This would would explain your blind belief and ignorance. You need to get yourself an education and stop watching CNN and Fox and get your facts right before you insult people with your total lack of knowledge.

Better still talk to any of the soldier who have returned from Iraq and hear the harsh reality, the truth.

btw..Okidoki you're a compete dimwit for saying we should not speak the truth. This is America not Nurenberg . Get an education before you spout such total crap. Massacring thousands of innocent lebanese civilians and genocide of innocent sleeping children was an artrocity, a crime against humanity and if you do not realise that then you are a sad misinformed ignorant. The montl long bombardment of Lebanon was completely misproportionate to the abduction of two soldiers.. I understand you're biased, but get real. The world condemned the violent bombardment and total destruction of Lebanon's infrastructure.. You need to educate yourself, start reading and stop believeing the scripts pumped out by tabloid t.v.

you're absolutely right, i agree with you that we are making a mockery of ourselves......58million Americans saw the signs, saw the lies but went ahead and voted for Bush anyway. Now look at the mess and the impression he's left the world. I no longer trust half Americans. They're idiots. The ones in the Blue states are obviously the intelligent people with culture.

let's take one of the warnings Roger Moore gave to us...(ok, so Roger Moore may be an idiot too)....take the movie 9/11 Farenheight. No one made Bush act like a monkey...he did this himself right on actual film!! The world is laughing at the idiot Americans that voted for him. Don't defend him. It makes you look worse than Bush. the blind leading the blind.

Other than Israel, why does the rest of the world think Bush is a clown? His father and Clinton were well respected and we had allies when problems arose in places like Bosnia and Kuwait.

Now we have no popular support around the world. All we have is an egotistical idiot and the US is paying for it. That's why North Korea, Iran and Al Qaeda are thumbing their noses at us as we're stuck in the Iraq quagmire.

Sorry, but he gave himself top billing in the Capitol Follies Circus. The writers at SNL or the National Lampoon could not have created a more incompetent leader in their wildest dreams. If it looks like a clown and acts like a clown chances are it is a clown. He is his own worse enemy.

Bush does a fine job making himself look like a clown all by himself. Also, that we elected him makes us look bad to the rest of the world.

The fact that we allow people to express their opinions freely and still maintain our system and in fact are the most powerful country in the world shows how strong our system is.

Your idea that everyone has to support the President is actually quite unamerican.

It's called Freedom of Speech.
You can't bully everyone into a compliant silence. The Republicans certainly didn't refrain from bashing Clinton or Carter, in the name of "not appearing to be weak."

I feel you are completely wrong. America is supposed to be a free democracy where we can voice our opinions even if that means bashing the President. The second we stop living like that we become mindless sheep.....Free speech is on of the things that makes our country GREAT and people have fought and died to keep those ideals. Are we supposed to have blind allegiance???? Our officials are elected by the people. They are accountable to us, not the other way around............

The president is not the most powerful man in the world, he is not even the most powerful man in the country. All the real power lies with congress.

Democracy = freedom to speak up about our politicians, this creates an informed electorate that can intelligently choose future "leaders". Foreign governments and citizens already hate us for the policies and actions pursued by the Bush administration. Bush makes himself appear to be a clown whenever he speaks, stuttering, slurring, hesitating as he repeats his tired bromides and latest lies over and over.

Vernes below has the best answer -- think about it for a minute.
