i just found out I'm about 6 weeks pregnant i use meth daily. If i stop now, will my baby be okay?

First as a person who does meth daily, you should ask yourself can you take care of this baby? Do you even want this baby? Because I don't think any kid will be ok with a parent who does meth daily. And if you do really want this kid, you should go see a doctor right away and see what you can do, it might have affected the baby already if you are six weeks and you've been doing meth everyday. But I'm pretty sure it's still ok but STOP now, and im pretty sure that the doctor will give you a lot of prenatal vitamins.

Your baby will always have better chances the sooner you stop. Let a doctor know right away and don't use lack of insurance(should that be the case) as an excuse to not go to a doctor. You need to. And anytime you are having trouble with a bad habit that may effect your child, look down, literally, at your stomach and picture the baby in there. Hope this helps.

your in a tough situation..... because you were using meth daily and your baby was already 6 weeks old....it either might be too late or its a 50/50 percent chance for the baby.....personally i think it may be a littlle too late........it adda depends ....but thats a good thing that you stopped for the sake of the baby....i don't know jus' eat right and take care of the baby from this time on....you need to do whats right for the baby now

My wife is a registered nurse on a NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit).

if you stop now, you minimize the risk to your baby. If you do not stop, your baby could be born with all kinds of problems, not the least of which would be learning disorders, ADHD, etc. The baby could be born a preemie, and without vital organs if you keep it up. It could be born addicted to drugs, etc.

If you don't stop now, you could end up being charged with murder should the baby die. (some states have begun doing this.)

So I suggest you stop if you don't want to kill or maim you're child and spend the rest of your life carrying that around with you.

No, you better stop because your baby can be a crack baby and their chances of living are very slim...Sorry to say this but if you keep doing this in the future you might as well give up your baby for adoption, no baby deserves that kind of future with a crack mom

The baby WILL suffer if you quit. But it will suffer a million times more if you continue. If you do continue and the baby is born with drugs in its system they they will take the baby away from you. And there was a case where a woman took drugs during pregnancy and the baby died. She was charged with murder.

good luck....get some help. Quiting is not easy but it is worth it.

Only a doctor can say for sure - but right now you're baby is developing quickly - brain, heart, nervous system - those chemicals are not going to do those developing systems any good

Hey please listen to me: I currently have 9 months clean from a 7 year meth addiction. I used meth on regular basis through 3 of my pregnancies. I litterally got "clean" 3 days before my due date so that they would not test positive. All three of them are fine and were born healthy. But I have had many pregnant friends that I used with that meth DID affect their babies. It can start labor causing your baby to be born early. It also can cause Placenta abruptio.


Placenta abruptio is the separation of the placenta from the uterus before a baby is delivered, typically in the third trimester of pregnancy but sometimes earlier. Since the placenta delivers oxygen and nutrients from the mother's bloodstream to the fetus and carries waste products away from the fetus, placenta abruptio can be life-threatening for a mother, her fetus, or both.

Separation of the placenta from the uterus may be partial or complete. A partial separation may cause only minor bleeding and not endanger the lives of the fetus or mother. In rare cases, a complete separation may lead to fetal death and severe bleeding that can endanger the mother's life. Using Meth can cause this. I have seen it happen and it is not cute when you walk into your girlfriends motel room and she is laying in a bath tub, and their is blood all over the bathroom.

**** Take the chance now to get clean and stay clean. Meth WILL destroy you and eventually it will destroy your childs life, even if she or he is born healthy. I do not know how long you have been using, but STOP. I have 7 children all of which I have lost to the state because of my addiction, all because of the hold meth had on me and my husband. I had so many chances to get clean and I did not. It is not worth your life.

Yes, definently stop becuz if you don't you could loose your baby physically and legaly. I know someone who knows someone else who did meth while she was preginant and she lost the baby to the government...So please stop using not only for your baby, but for you.
