Using your logic and the logic of sticknpuck82 and taking it further, everyone can trace their origins back to Africa. You can't have a basketball game with just one team can you? Even though I took your question to the extreme end of things (although your question is pretty extreme as it is) you can see how it simplifies things greatly by having players representing the countries they were born in or are citizens of.

Um...so are you suggesting that EVERYONE should play for the team from which their ancestors came? I mean, seriously. That would make it impossible for America to really HAVE a team, unless it were made of only Native Americans. And most people aren't of a single descent (i.e. my family is Brit/Scot/German), so how would they choose which team to play for? Sorry, but that's just a lame, completely poorly thought-out question.

Anyway, Just because you have dark skin doesn't mean you are not American.So if you want to play in the States, where you were born and raised, then you have the right to do that.

most american coloured players are not african,they maybe decended from the original african stock of slaves, but i would hazard a guess that they are as proud to play for america as every non colored person, regards lf
