As I get older I find it harder and harder to ejaculate during intercorse. I can attain an erection almost any time but can''t seem to finish. It might take me extra long time and by then my partner is exhausted. I understand that Viagra works for attaining an erection but has nothing to do with semen. What should I do short of going to a doctor?

Sorry, going to a urologist is the only way to go. Nothing to be embarrassed about, its a common thing. Do yourself a favor and get back on track, life is TOO SHORT not to have a great sex life !!

You really answered your own question! Almost. I have the same problem. Prostate. That was my problem. I have just found out recently that I have cancer of the prostate and will know in December if an operation is in order. It may still be that one cancer cell from 18 months ago. The biopsy will tell. It has affected my sex life greatly, I am not impotent as I have erections from time to time when asleep. I live alone, and have not dated in a couple of years. (my decision). Maybe I am afraid of failure when it comes to a sexual encounter. My Urologist has given me some Viagra, and a prescription for Cialis but have not used either. I think when my next date comes alone I will try the Viagra., Maybe about 4..

Chances are semen production is not the problem. You sound like you are having a hard time climaxing. That is when semen is expelled. I think you need to explore why you aren't climaxing.. are you tired? are you not in the mood? is your mind wandering? are you not attracted to the person you're with?? I think you may need more excitement and/or foreplay. Hope this helps!

Your condition is called priapism, and it can be indicative of serious underlying problems with the prostate or the vas deferens. You may not want to consult a doctor, but you are a fool if you don't.

I don't agree with #1.

What medications are you taking?

Are you on any antidepressents?

Some of them can cause delayed ejaculation. In fact, they prescribe Paxil to young men who have trouble with premature ejaculation.

Have a look at your meds and look here for the side effects.
