Seriously tho, they eat tender buds and leaves of plants. Flowering hibiscus, passion flower, garden veggies....in m y experience the prettier the flower, the more those buggers want to eat it. :-0

I don't know if this link is for the giant bahstahds..but it is about grasshoppers.

This is a good time to teach your son that old cliche " if you love it, let it go..."Explain that it will die if you keep it. When you let something like that go, you're kissing the eyebrows of God. We teach respect this way to all children. That giant grasshopper might be a katydid.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to teach your son about the humane way to treat critters that live in the wild!

Please let the animal go! The poor thing will die soon in captivity....and then you'll be teaching your son about death.

keep it put in grass in a jar to have his environment and put him leaves and fruit to eat but don´t forget to make holes to the jar to keep him breathing:)
