I'm on birthcontrol right now. I use the patch and it's okay but I've heard a lot of bad things and worry that it will effect me later. Which method do you use right now? What is good and bad about it? Has one used the v-ring, I think it's called? How does work and feel? Just wondering if I should change my method?

Not a girl, but have a wife so have a clue.
Firstly it's different for all women, so whats best for one person won't necessarily be good for you, GO TO THE DOCTOR!
This is the best advice anyone can give you.
Otherwise don't have sex, and lets face it that's not likely.
All methods have risks, side effects, good and bad points, your Doctors the best choice, don't use something without consulting them!!!

condoms here too. I hate hormones. The stronger variety just makes me feel like I have PMS every single day of the month and the lower dosage ones just don't work. I'd frankly love not to have to use a condom but at this point, I can't see any other alternatives that appeal to me. Like they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it is what I tend to think about it.

I've heard some very bad things about the patch too (and all synthetic hormones for that matter)...I've never used the patch but did use the pill briefly...but the risks scare the hell outta me!!! (and so do the risks of pregnancy...especially now!...I've raised my kids already) so ever since my hubby uses condoms (he hates 'em!!!) .... good luck... Debbi

I use the nuva ring and I really like it. I take it out to have my period and put a new one back in after and don't think about it for another month when it's time for my period again.

i wont be much help, but i wont take pills, cause i like to stick to natural things rather than filling myself with pills (which i'd forget to take anyway) i just use condoms till my hubbys old enough to have a visectomy(yuk) but ive had the kids so done my bit.

My husband and I use condoms...... Simply because I don't see how messing with your hormones or your body's natural rhythm is at all safe.
