Isn't being in this country Illegally an Illegal act?
Why don't we punish them?
It seems like we are saying to those people commit a crime with Immunity and Impunity

Yep and I want immunity for about 7 years of paying no income taxes...can I start this year? It'd be nice.

Have you not been paying attention to all the recent debates about what to do about illegal immigration? They are trying to find a way to fix the problems in the immigration system. However, I'm sure if you came from the countries these immigrants come from, you would be knocking on America's door also. And I also remind you that these illegal immigrants are the ones cleaning up your mess, mowing lawns, doing the sh*t jobs that Americans don't want to do, and they barely ask for anything from it. I don't really understand what your question was, though. Was it why should you be punished for doing something illegal when immigrants don't get punished? What exactly did you do?

We already have a serious problem of overflowing jails/prisons so if we decide to punish by throwing in prison -the courts would be overburdened,to house them even in separate camps, feed, clothe, provide then medicine and the manpower to guard them would be at the expense of us the taxpayers. For as soon as you jail you make them our responsibility. To deport those caught is the least burdensome and expanse to us. Ask yourself why this is so problematic-because they are being hired as cheap labor by Americans and as long as that continues they'll be encouraged to come. We need to impose stiff fines on those who hire-knowingly illegals and those who import need to be jailed. Sometimes quick to say do something but you need to think through.

Yes, that's exactly what it seems like we're saying.

And it starts at the top, where elected officials are not expected or required to follow the laws.

So, if our own government doesn't follow the laws, how can we reasonably expect anyone else to?

Yep. So get out. This land wasn't legally recieved from native Americans. It was stolen. So, unless you're willing to follow your own rules, no.
