I didnt make my school soccer team, but the coach told me i should do cross country. I dont really like running, but do you think I should do cross country anyway, just to get in shape? and if I did it would i start liking running more?

I'd try it.

It will keep you in great shape if you do a winter or spring sport. But more importantly, you'll probably enjoy it. If you are a competitive person, it doesn't get more pure then distance running. If you are a social person, XC teams are generally the most social teams at the school. Plus, the teams are co-ed, always a bonus.

I can't say you'll start to like running, but i bet you like XC.

Go ahead and try it. I thought I was going to be a track sprinter, but my P.E. teacher suggested I join the cross-country team. I tried it and turned out to be really good at distance running. Usually people don't like running because it hurts them. If you can get past the initial pain though, you will get what is called an endorphin high. After awhile, you start liking running because of those endorphins. It will also be fun to be part of a team and if you make varsity, you get a letter!

BUT i love my team, the things we do, the experiences, the places we travel to, etc. and im gradually starting to like running more and more. Today I had a meet, and i loved it!

If you like to run then totally do it. I did cc and track for several years because I was good at it... the thing is I hate to run! If you like to run then its perfect. You have to have a passion for it and be committed. Running is good way to get in shape anyway. Its a good habit to start and I LOVED being on a team. I would say go for it.

hah those are rather sturdy! and that i in my opinion hadn't heard a lot of those earlier--you're probable from a diverse element of the rustic than i'm b/c I felt like i might heard alllmost each and every severe college XC quote around. i admire 'em in spite of the undeniable fact that. the only humorous one I could upload is "pass usa runners do it interior the woods."
