How many are hoping that she makes a comeback? Do you think that being with Bobby Brown contributed to her downfall?
I think that Whitney Houston is the best female singer ever and few can even breathe the same air as she does in the music game. When she was on top of her game, she was the greatest. The way she sang moved me and her voice was so strong, clear and soulful. I hope she can overcome her problems and make more good music--not like that last cd in which she basically sang tributes to Bobby. I think he brought her down but it was by her own choice. What do you think?

I guess some of you guys aren't Whitney fans. It's all good. I still loved her music, especially her ballads. I never heard that she was on meth and just because she's older than Bobby doesn't mean that he couldn't have had a negative influence on her. Also, being from Jersey City or any other hood doesn't always equate "ghettoism". Thanks for sharing.

I don't deny that Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, and many others are great...and I would like to reword the last question...Wasn't she one of the best? I respect and appreciate the work of those before her times, during her times and since her times.

I think that was a good 2 paragraphs you wrote. I loved Whitney when I was smaller and although she is good I don't think she's the best. However, it'd be nice is she made a nice, sober comeback. I give your topic a thumbs up!

I wouldn't swear to her being the best ever ever... but she was pretty spectactular when she was at the top of her game. Few can even compare with her singing ballads. I do miss her songs, but I think everyone has a free will and no one can be completely blamed for being someones "downfall" although I'm sure he contributed. Good question. Made me think :-) Have a great day!

Although I agree with you that Whitney is an amazing vocalist, to call her the best ever discounts the incredible pioneers of R&B that preceeded her; including Billie, Ella, Chaka, and of course, the Queen of Soul, Aretha.

I would guess that Whitney, herself, carries a great deal of repect for these vocalists and realizes what price they paid to pave the way for her stunning success. I urge you to consider a bit of musical history, and listen to the efforts of these amazing women who are an important part of the rich heritage of R&B.

Not only is she a crackhead but shes a total nutcase and deserves no respect. And whats with bobby brown? What an as*hole. I know a couple just like this, the only difference is they are not rich, it just shows you dont need to be a poor drug addict to look like one. Has a voice, just chooses now to use it as a toilet for crack and bobbys johnson.

I agree she had the best voice and yes Bobby Brown was her major downfall. I wish she would make a comeback and dumb him .It's a shame that happened to her.

Damn I saw Whitney in a tv performance. I heard her sing. Her voice cracked. I don't know if she was cracking for "Luther" or Because She Lost Her Voice.

I Miss Whitney!

Personally, I found her singing to be soulless -- great chops no soul. Aretha Franklin is a far better singer -- the true "Queen of Soul".

No. Skinny annoying phony classless b*tch. She's, like, eight years older than Bobby, so I doubt that he's the bad influence. The girl's from Jersey City, so you know she was ghetto from the start. Even at the top of her game, all she ever really did was yell.

i dont miss her that much. she was an excellent singer. but she lacked the versatility to get you through different fads. but..........i agree entirely that whatever talent she had was brought down by bobbi. he sucks and he has made her suck too. what a waste
