You could try asking him straight forwardly if he will join you for lunch or coffee first and then go from there.
Perhaps have a few mutual friends join you both as well!
Less informal that way
no embarrassment to either if the invite is rejected

Ask him to something specific that you think he might like. A game, or a movie.
"I've got tickets to the _________, would you like to go with me?"
I would pick the movie Step Up because I think it will be romantic, but also might appeal to guys, but I don't know the guy you are talking about.

first of all, how old are you, second of all, if your under 18 you should just leave him alone. if you are, and you go after him and he accepts, hes going to jail.

get some ballz, girlie...nothing is more attractive in anyone, than confidence and knowing what you want in life. just see what is going on..dont be afraid to be rejected, it is better than spending your life never knowing what if!?!?!
