These links should help you out with your IQ questions and your online testing. If you're thinking of MENSA, you need at least 110 or higher. Good luck and have fun.

Every IQ test has its own range, there isn't an absolute IQ value range. Mathematically, I suppose you could say IQ ranges from 0 to "all questions answered and answered correctly, in 0 amount of time" which, as previously noted, would have a different value depending on the test used. However, a score of 0 is theoretical. There is probably some greater than 0 score below which a person whose brain was functioning that "poorly" would be dead because their brain wouldn't be functioning well enough to keep their heart pumping, their lungs breathing, etc. Similarly, if you actually did all the questions in 0 time, my gut feeling is that would probably entail dividing by 0 which would give an infinite IQ, again, a theoretical upper bound but not realistically achieveable.

There is a vast range of IQs, but they mostly fall within about 30 (severely mentally retarded and non-functioning in society) to 200 (amazingly intelligent, gifted genius). Genius is generally considered above 140, which is within the top 1% of all IQs. I would recommend Tickle's Classic IQ Test at http://web.tickle.com/tests/uiqnew/ or their Super IQ Test at http://web.tickle.com/tests/superiq/?test=superiqogt . When I took these tests, the Classic gave me a higher score by about 5 points, though that could just have been because of the day.

All of this information came from my brain and is what I recall from researching IQs online. However, below are some of the sites I used if you would like to verify. They are all quite interesting to peruse.

By taking a standardised test it is determined what your mental age is. If matches your actual age you have an IQ of 100.

Genius level IQ is usually thought to be about 145. If your mental age was shown to be 14 and a half when you were 10 years old you would be considered a genius.

IQ's can range from lower 40's (brain dead) to the 170's(Einstein was 170) 130 is considered genius level and anything below 75 is considered to be unteachable. IQ does not measure how smart you are. It measures your ability to learn. And , if you think about it, knowledge is nothing more than memory. If your memory sucks, then i imagine your IQ will suck as well

90-110 is within the average range

110-125 is above average

125+ falls in the superior range

Those online IQ test are not reliable and do not measure ones IQ. You need to see a trained professional to have them administer an IQ test...

100 is defined as average.
Somewhere in the 135-140 range and above is considered genius.
Mensa requires the 98 percentile or above which is somewhere around 145 and above. Online tests are not very acurate. Try out for Mensa and take their tests.

Must add to the running commentary a little "devil's advocacy" here:

IQ is often erroneously considered "something" in and of itself. It is no more than a "status symbol" if you do nothing with it. It can often even be disabling. Might want to read some scientific works.
