i'm a member of a newly-formed group website. with the increasing number of comments, suggestions and plans, we lose track of what's what. we need to segregate topics/ subtopics, by then it would be easier to locate a particular subject.

i'll be very grateful if somebody can tell me how to do it.
thanks guys!

If you were a developer of that website, i would tell you that it's a matter of a proper database design. In the tables where you store comments, suggestion, and plans you should add a column called 'category' and have a category reference table where each category would have an ID, name, and description. The rest is changing code to accomodate each distinct category ID.

This is supposed to be some very popular bulletin board software: http://www.phpbb.com/ You will need a host capable of running it, but I think you will probably find that it is similar to what you need. I've heard about it, but I have never tried it. Because it is somewhat popular, it should be well documented. If you have problems, there is almost certainly a bulletin board devoted to solving them. Good luck!
