I live in IL. Also, what insights, opinions, experiences do you have on the life of a early education teacher? What would be the best certifications/degree programs to join ? Thanks.

There are lots of jobs but they don't pay very much. I was a pre-k teacher for a while but I didn't make enough to really live on.

It's ok if you really like it or you are retired.

It depends on where you live. Some states are in desperate need of teachers and will pay a signing bonus. Other states it can be impossible to find a job. Do a search for your state and educational organizations. You can find out a lot from the state sites.
I happen to know that Ohio has too many teachers and Florida needs them desperately. Georgia is in need of teachers of certain subjects and there are special incentives. You can also inquire at a local university. Request an advisor in the education department (early education). Good luck.

Depends where you live!

In Montreal, Canada (if not, the whole province of Quebec) is in very high demand of teachers. especially when it comes to 'second language' teachers (English is considered a second language here)

Come by, I'm sure I could get you an interview! I have alot of family and friends that are teachers and principals!

I think that if you are good you are always in demand. It can be exhausting!!! I think that montessori is the best teaching theory...The little ones will wear you out!!!
