The processor has nothing directly to do with wireless capability as you may well know by now. The processor processes all the functions you make on your computer/laptop. So the the more powerful it is the the better your functions will perform.
What your laptop will need is a wireless network card (built in or an external adapter) and then a wirless adsl modem to connect to. The Intel processors that have 'M' on the model name i.e Celeron M, are suppose to be adapted for the functions of wireless connections.
A laptop with a Celeron M/Pentium M processor may well have a built in wireless network card as the processor model suggests that the laptop is built for such functions. Have a look at the specification to see if it has a built in wireless network card.
To answer your actual q though. No, many laptops are sold with standard processors i.e just Celeron or just Pentium not with the 'M' attached on it. These can still function wireless connections, the only difference being is that the processor does not have that secial feature to it that may help. But to be honest, even someone like me who knows a little about these things would not be able to tell the difference in the performance between a standard and 'M' processor.
If your chosen laptop does not have a built in wireless network card a wireless kit can be bought which will include a wireless router/modem (a wireless router can be added to an existing modem or you can just get a router with a built in modem) and a wireless adapter to be plugged into your laptop.
A final word of advise, If possible go for a Pentium processor rather than a celeron as celerons are cheap down-graded versions of the pentium processor and you can most definitly see the diference. And I don't think there is much difference in price. You can get good deals from Dell and some high street stores. And if it is not necessary for you to carry your system around consider buying a desktop PC. You can get the same/similar spec and more for much less.

No a celeron is just a cheapo microprocessor. You're probably thinking of centrino - doesn't need that either - but Intel would like you to think so! lol. Yes, you can get an adapter to make you laptop wireless. Try maplin. There are two ttypes - one that fits the pcmcia slot and a USB one - ask which one has the best range. I have a USB dongle in my desktop. But it's next to the router - so no problem. My laptop has it built in.

No..the processor does not need to be "M"..just celeron is fine.
I recommend using a pcmcia wireless card rather than a usb wireless adaptor, depends on which is more preferable to you ..using up a USB port or your pcmcia slot.

The cpu is nothing to do weather or not it is wireless.
You can use an usb wireless adapter if one is not built into the laptop.

the type of CPU does not matter for wireless capability so long as it's reasonably new.
