It depends on what you're doing on those sheets. Every other week is OK if you have air-conditioning and don't sweat much at night, but you should change them a lot more often (even daily if necessary) if your bedroom is hot, you sweat a lot, or if certain conjugal activities have been occurring on your sheets. It is also good to spray down the mattress and pillows with a disinfectant spray when you change the sheets to keep them more sanitary and smelling fresh.

I tend to change my pillow case once a week. But the rest only once a month or every three weeks, or two.... depends really. Whenever they start to honk or feel grimey! A trick you could do is use a sheet under your duvet... i.e. the sheet touches your body and then you only have to wash that not the whole duvet cover.
Kim and Aggie suggest you wash once a week at 60 degrees c. They also say to freshen the mattress by sprinkling bicarbonate of soda on it, leave for a couple of hours and them vacuum it off.

As long as you keep your body clean with a bath or shower and keep the bed made(or at least the blankets pulled up over the sheets) when it's not in use, I don't think it's necessary to change sheets more than every other week.

I watched a program where every 2-3 weeks were recommended. Every week is clean freak definitely. It depends how clean you are as a person and whether you wear pyjamas. Air them in the morning. Take shower before bed. We usually change them about every 3 weeks to once a month sometimes more frequently if needed.

I change my sheets normally about every week. If it's ultra hot, however, like at this point in the summer, I might change them a day or two earlier.

I went to a Catholic high school. In one lesson the brother sat us all down and gave us a facts of life lesson about cleanliness. He knew we were going out in the real world and that we should know a few basic things beyond the normal class room subjects like what fork to use, manners and such.
The topic of bed sheets was brought up by him. He told all of us to change our sheets at least once a week.
If you think about it makes sense. You are constantly sheddind dead skin cells. Fact: What do you think most of the dust is in your house? It doesn't just spontaneosly creat itself. It is your dead skin cells that turn in to dust. Fact: How else is it that dogs can track you if not for all the dead skin cells that you constantly shed.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to be sleeping in weeks of dead skin cells.
Change your bed sheets once a week. And before you put new sheets on, every once in a while take some febreeze and spray it over your mattress and pillows. Live smart, not sick.

Every week. No matter how sick or busy I am. That's why I always have at least 3 changes of sheets.
