As an owner of a 1967 Impala, I just want to say that this swap idea is ill conceived. You could put a 250 cid straight six in your Impala and produce around the same numbers as the 4.3 liter. If your Impala originally came with the 250 hp 283 cid V8, why not rebuild it. If your Impala has the 300 hp 327 cid V8 like mine, I would never dream of swapping out this rareity with a V6, besides the 327 is tough as nails, and virtually indestructable. Unless it is for a 427 which also came in the 67, these are extremely rare, a friend of mine in the next town has an original 1967 427 SS, 425 hp with the factory 4 speed, and it is freakishly wicked fast! Please rethink your decision, not only from me, but other 67 owners all over the country. If you don't want the car anymore, just let me know, I'll come pick it up, and build it the right way.

You can make your life a little easier by just putting a carburetor on top of the 4.3 and getting rid of the computer altogether. Either way it will be some work. You might be better off just buying an aftermarket wiring harness from a place like Painless Wiring if you decide to keep the computer. On a car like that, I would just put in a small block v-8. If you do decide to use a carburetor, you can purchase an intake manifold from Summit Performance Or Jeg's. Also, if you keep the fuel injection with the computer, you will have to modify the fuel tank for an electric fuel pump and return line. You would probably have to modify the exhaust system a little also to use the oxygen sensor.

Well, for starters the 4.3 doesn't have the torque to pull that lead sled around. But if you really intend on doing it do not cut any wires on the computer system off the donor car. Any breaks in the wires will give the computer false reading. It will drive you nuts trying to figure out whats wrong, that is if it runs.

the bell housing is the same. you will need a ecm and wiring harness, a return line to the fuel tank and a High pressure fuel pump. a new fuel injected 4.3 has about (alittle less)the same power as your old engine just make it look good.

yes you can do this all you need to change is the motor mounts you do not need the computer yes they think you do but you dont
change the distributor to one with points and that year of car you do not need the sensors you need in cars today you dont need as much wireing in this car it is very simple and dont worry about power the 4.3 will give you plenty of power for this car but if you change the distributor and some of the wiring you do not need the computer

Have fun pushing that tank with a little V6.
You need the wiring harness and thebell housing needs to be able to fit / match up to the exisitng tranny..Also you are going to need to make/refit the motor mounts..

no its not that easy but it can be done. you have to have the correct voltages where needed. to do this you have to know engine computors and wiring but as i said you can do it. but depending on the year you might need all the exhaust to know where the O2 sensors go and so on. do it right and you will enjoy it. get a whole vehicle and strip the engine pcm and all the wiring out and go from there
