OK my subtotal is 52.95 I have to add 9.95 for shipping & handling which = $62.90 but I have to add 6% sales tax to the 62.90 and I don't know how !

US it is illegal to charge sales tax on shipping and handling(warning flag)
BUT 52.95 + (52.95 x 6%) + 9.95 = your answer or HW answer
Ball park figuring 6% on the dollar means six cents for each dollar, sixty cents for ten dollars, five tens(fifty) would be 5 x .60 or a little more than three dollars in tax. Ain't math fun!
Or six dollars on $100... you have rougfhly half($50) so $3.

First, the sales tax should only be on the $52.95, not the shipping and handling -- they should NOT be taxing the shipping and handling, should they?
Anyway, if it is the 52.95, it is 3.18 + 9.95 = 66.08
If it is the on the whole 62.90, it is 3.78 = 66.68

You don't add tax to the shipping and handling, just to the 52.95
You take $52.95 X .06 =$3.18 + $52.95 + $9.95 = $66.08

i'll help.
Since ur sub-total is 52.95, add 9.95 to it = 62.90. Then multiply 6% (x 6/100) = 3.774. Round this number up to 3.77.
Add 3.77 to 62.90 which will total 66.67. Simple equation.

all you do is take 62.90 and times that by .06 or 6% which is $3.77 then add 62.90+ 3.77= 66.67
