The Patriot ACT, fake terrorists attacks ie..... (9/11,Oklahomia City bombing, etc...) video cameras, illeagel wire tapping, and so on. The war on terror, the war on drugs, the war in Iraq, constitutional amendmennts bannig same sex marriages, and so on, seem to be to ground work to controlling every aspect our lives, the way we think, the way we act, and the way we live. It's the way the Romans, Hilter, and other dictators began.

In honor of Pastor Martin Niemöller:

First they came for the 6th Amendment, but I hadn't been accused of a crime, so I didn't object to denial of counsel.

Then they came for the 4th Amendment, but I wasn't talking to anyone overseas, so they wouldn't be monitoring me.

Then they came for the rest of the 4th Amendment, but I only called my mother, so there was nothing suspicious in my phone records.

Then they came for the 1st Amendment, but I never associated with criminals, so I didn't worry about being convicted purely based on what other people might do.

Then they came for the 14th Amendment, but I never really understood the rules for Due Process (and wasn't allowed an attorney), so I didn't object.

Then they came for the rest of the 1st Amendment, but I never told anyone about what the government was doing, so again I remained silent.

Then they came for the 5th Amendment, ...... and I no longer had the right to remain silent.

It's not just you! Take CPS (Child Protective Service) for example. That agency has single handedly ruined countless families and lives for no reason other than that they can. The more people they draw into their system, the more money they generate for themselves, and all with the blessing of our government at the expence of innocent children! If CPS does ANY good at all, I have yet to hear about it.
Our court system is just as bad. Let's say you're accused of a crime. You will quickly find out that you are GUILTY until proven INNOCENT. Then you'll find out that "right" isn't "right" and "wrong" isn't "wrong". It depends on how much money you have and how high powered your lawyer is.... And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Now people are starting to get it.... You're reaching a bit but bit-by-bit we're getting away from what makes the US great.

Not all parts of the Patriot Act are bad. There are some good parts.
Same sex marriage amendment-- won't ever happen.

But all the circumvention of laws and the constituion continually erode our freedoms. Hmmm, didn't somebody say there were fighting to PROTECT our freedom?

What friggin USA do you live in? Cause i dont think we're in the same country.

You need to exit your comfort zone and experience a real police state. Or just anywhere but here. Hell, try mexico. You get imprisoned there for walking on the side walk at the wrong time.

You people have no idea how good you got it, until its gone. Atleast then you'll really have something to piss and moan about.

Read about the Domestic Security Enhancement Act. It's even worse than the USA PATRIOT act.

That sounds about right to me. It seems to be working pretty well too--notice how people think you're nuts if you dare say anything like this to them. They don't even want to see proof. Their imaginary safe world would crumble away and reality is unacceptable to most.

It always has been a police state. I guess you're in your early 20's and just realizing it.
