me and my man have been together for 5 + yrs. he says he loves me and im the only one for him but he also says he doesnt want to marry me. we have a child together too. any comments?

a lot of men are afraid of committment...even after 5 years. If he says he loves you and he's there from you it's up to you to either stay or leave him...he may be one of those men who will never commit. My daughter has been with her man for 21 years, 2 kids and neither of them want to get married but their very happy together! Go figure....good luck

maybe he is afraid of marriage because theirs so many devorces out there i know i am. after five years and more he should now if he want to marry u if he doesn't than he is happy being common law dont forget u are his wife now if u live together so basically u are married without a paper.
i am pretty sure he loves u give him some time and stop pressuring him maybe he also feels pressured because u mention it alot stop mentioning it for 3 months he will come around hell ask u if he is not pressured he wants to probably propose on his own time give him space on that
its a huge decision serious and important one
right now just enjoy being a family with him and enjoy him
and everything will come together

well i would think that if you spent the last 5 years together that he would want to marry you. maybe he doesnt picture living the rest of his life with you or he really is not feeling marriage at all. it happens/

Get away from him... Sounds like he might be scared of something, or just not ready for committment. Tell him you are ready and if he cant handle it then you need to move on... Sometimes guys just need to be told what to do, give him an ultimatum, marry me, or Im moving on.... see what he says. Good luck!

The question you need to ask him is "do you not want to get married, or do you not want to get married to me" You clearly have a committed relationship and maybe he feels he doesn't need to marry you legally to show it. Probably a conversation you should have had 5yrs ago.

he could just be comfortable with not being married.....my guy tells me that he is scared of getting married......we've been together for 3 years

have you talked to him. sounds to me like he's got commitment problems...not good at all. i think you should sit down with him, & let him know you wanna get married because you love him.
